Pollard's Chicken at Tidewater (Norfolk)

OMG. Best meal deal ever. Love your fried chicken livers.

Great chicken, prices good, and service wonderful.

When I want fried chicken I think of collards. Meets my expectations every time! My go to, two piece dark, macncheese, collards, and some mashed potatoes. This location also has homemade cake slices. Yum!

Before moving away Pollard's Chicken was one of my favorite places to eat. Needless to say I was looking forward to some of their mouth-watering, delicious fried chicken. Even though I did carryout to a location 30 minutes away, everything was still quite warm when I opened it up to eat. Absolutely delicious fried chicken, seasoned green beans & mashed potatoes. The service was quick and courteous. For those dining in the dining area looked clean.

If I could give a rating for taste and give a rating for restaurant condition, the average would be 3-stars. Let's talk about the restaurant, first, because I always believe you should end on a high note.

The restaurant is very outdated and is in desperate need of an upgrade. Floors were very sticky and the walls were dirty. The air conditioning unit might have been as old as the building because it did not cool the building down very much at all. However, in their defense, it was almost a 100ﾟ yesterday. There was a temperature difference and it was cooler toward the restaurant side versus where you order your food. Noticeably, there were more flies than diners.

Now, let's talk food. We ordered an 8-piece meal with green beans, potato salad, and mac-n-cheese. The chicken was well-seasoned and juicy. The green beans were delicious and they had these things called "puffs." The puffs were out of bounds crazy good. Deep fried roll deliciousness with drizzled honey that are light, airy, and finger licking good!!!

We'll definitely go again but it will be carry out next time.
