A jewel on Route 20. A nice drive for unexpected ambience, unexpected great menu, delicious food and pleasant staff. Make the drive. You will be glad you did.

Had dinner here tonight after reading all the great reviews. Wonderful atmosphere. Staff was absolutely amazing!! The owner is such a sweetheart. Our waiter kept our drinks full and table was cleared in a very timely manner of finished dishes and items.

Can’t wait to go back and try brunch.

Visited General's Quarters yesterday with a friend for the first time. The gentleman who waited on us could not have been nicer and was able to chat for a few minutes as we were in rather early and there were no other customers. Wasn’t long though before the tables started filling up.

Loved the atmosphere, and it was nice sitting by the fireplace. The prices were reasonable and the food was quite tasty. Definitely a place to visit again and again.

LOVE This Place! I've gone now since they opened. The owner is awesome and never too busy to say hello to me. I love the service and the food! Try their French Onion Soup - OMG! You can't go wrong with this local gem!

Pros: Delicious upscale food at very affordable prices. Friendly service. Perfect place to go for a special occasion or with a big group (I've done both multiple times), but also a great spot to have excellent food any old time or just to hang out at the bar for drinks & appetizers with friends. Decent wine & beer selection with some intriguing local offerings. And the site has a fascinating history! Ask the owner about it -- the restaurant is called Generals' Quarters for good reason.

Cons: Not open on Sundays, and not open late. Alas!

Tips: Those crabcakes!! People are raving about them, and rightly so. Meats perfectly cooked, too; can't go wrong there.

In sum: It's a fine-dining experience with cool history a down-home feel. Best restaurant in the area, by far.
