Mr. Garcia's Mexican Grill and Cantina

I had heard some really good things about this restaurant, so maybe my expectations were higher than they should have been? Food was ok... Better than the two Mexican spots in Luray. Service wasn't good... Our waitress seemed bothered by us, forgot key things like a plate for my youngest, giving us water, etc. She became overly nice when I mentioned it was our first time there at the end of the meal. They charge a fee for everything - ice cream (that the waitress said was a part of the dessert), taking carry out, small things that made me feel like there should have been fine print to go over before ordering. Floor at our table was sticky, like soda had been spilled and not cleaned up.

All in all, food was ok. Staff was ok-ish. Definitely not worth the drive.

Not great, but not horrible. Service was decent. I was surprised that they charged for sour cream for my tacos.

Ordered California burrito and the sweet tamale for carry out. Ready in about 5 minutes. Tamale was my first time trying. Burrito was good but the tamale was dry and came with whip cream and maybe icecream that was melted by the time I got back. Recommend Mr Garcia's just not the sweet tamale for dessert.

As usual, the food is divine. Excellent value for such good quality. Just ate dinner for about the 10th time & it just keeps getting better! Some of these negative reviews are from negative people that are never happy! Don't believe them. This is a great place for Mexican, clean, friendly, speedy, an all around 5*.

We enjoy Mr. Garcia's so much, we even do carry out from time to time. They will make your food spicy if you wish and all the items we've had have been very good. Great value for the prices and everyone there is very friendly. We will be back again and again.
