Great food! I got the burnt ends and they were amazing! All the bbq sauces are really good (except the white sauce I’m not a fan of). Really good cornbread! Service was good and really quick although there weren’t many people in there, so hopefully it’s the same when they are busier also. I’ll definitely be back!
I’ve never been a big fan of bbq but I like District KC BBQ. We’ve tried many of the different offerings to figure out what we prefer. The pulled chicken plate is a hit with plenty of sides to choose from. My wife and I like the slaw the best. The Alabama sauce as well as the Carolina mustard are very good. I give them a 4.5.
Liked it very much
Don't let the austere interior setup fool you, this place has good BBQ, decent sides and very good sauces. Our family tried the ribs, brisket, burnt ends, pulled chicken and smoked wings. My favorites were the ribs and burnt ends. Brisket is sliced fairly thin. All had a good smokey flavor without overdoing it. It also tasted good later when cold, which is a sign of good BBQ. The fries with the BBQ seasoning were very good and went well with the ribs. Cheesy mashed potatoes were good but not over the top. Beans were pretty good. The cornbread is great and you get a nice sized piece!
Sauces were GOOD.
All in all, this is a great alternative to the existing BBQ options in the area and you definitely will leave feeling full! Glad we checked 'em out.
I'm glad this place is finally open. Stored by for a quick lunch. The menus takes a while to parse, but I finally identified a 'burnt ends' sandwich with one side. While I was waiting for my order I stepped over to the sauce selection zone and picked up their original BBQ sauce as well as the spicy XXX sauce.
I was very happy with the sandwich. The meat was wonderful and moist. Perfectly sized portion in a wonderfully lofty bun.
Both sauces were good, although the spicy is definitely spicy. I wouldn't coat everything in it. The original was quite good with a little kick.
The side of slaw was OK. Not my favorite, but enough veritable to reduce my carnivore guilt.
