Food tasted ok, nothing spectacular. The location was what brought my rating down completely. I'll take a 20 minute drive to Canasta's Chicken, over a 3 minute ride here.

I bought a chicha, which is a traditional peruvian drink made of purple corn, but it tasted like it was from a powder mix. I asked the waitress, who was very nice, and confirmed it was corn. Either they need a bit more corn, or less ice. It tasted very watered down, reason for the confusion of the mix.

I bought an arroz chaufa (fried rice) and a papa rellena (stuffed potato). They were out of the papa, so I bought a causa (potato lasagna/cake like i don't know how to describe it. Google it - for me it is just called causa). The meal was huge, and for the price and taste, it was good. I even bought one to go because my left overs, plus another plate would feed me in the evening of that day, the morning and afternoon of the following. It is a chicken place, but would like for the menu to be bigger.

Now... the location. Old nightclub/bar used as a restaurant. Nightclub next door still runs the building as the signs point to it. This restaurant does not have any signs/logos except for a Peruvian flag on a window. The chairs were very uncomfortable - the bar had very small TV's. It had huge spaces between tables with a pool table at the top of some steps. It was literally one of those bars you go to because it is the only one open and you don't trust anyone in there type environment.

As a restaurant, for me to bring my fiance and have a nice night out... it is not. I lived 5 minutes away from it, they mentioned they were open for 10 months, and I never knew it was there. May take out from there some time, but never going back to eat until they choose a different location.

You have to try the Anton's Steak. I like the way they fry it but the spices make it awesome when served with rice eggs and fries. The place on outside may not look like much but what is on inside is amazing.

Our first Peruvian dining experience in Richmond. Very tasty food. Surprised pleasantly to get fried rice and noodles in a Latino place. Sauces were amazing. Restaurant didn't have a name board. Had to call in to find the way. Great friendly service. Can't wait to eat at the Short pump one.
