I ate here for the first time earlier today as part of a large family birthday gathering. What an absolute new gem of a restaurant in the North Side. The food was phenomenal...my partner and I split the pecan french toast and the oyster mushroom eggs Benedict. The french toast was easily top 3 I've ever eaten and I don't know what the coating on the biscuit was but it was to die for.
This is a new, family-owned spot run by a husband and wife team who have had to jump through a LOT of hoops to get this place up and running. The whole staff is super friendly and the restaurant has lots of natural light. We will definitely be back!
Brookland Park Kitchen is awesome! Everything we've ordered has always felt like a home cooked meal, as if they really focused on making each item. And that care always pays off because everything we've had has been fantastic! The chef is always working on new, awesome specials but I always go back to the wings or the chicken pesto sandwich. The fries and burgers are also great here!
This is immediately one of my favorite places in RVA. The seating and lighting are as warm and comfortable as the service. The food was all perfectly seasoned.
We got the hot honey chicken and the tomato soup with pesto grilled cheese. The fries that come with the chicken were excellent: Crispy, creamy, and well seasoned. The chicken sandwich uses a thigh so it's juicy, flavorful, and crispy.
It looks like they have rotating specials and we're excited to see what they have on the menu next.
First time here. We came for a late lunch and ordered the sweet potato beet and the chicken pesto sandwiches. The flavors are really great and portion sizes are huge. Prices are fair and the service was top notch. We’ll definitely be back.
After being urged by a neighbor to try this place, I finally made it for dinner with my husband on a Friday night and I'm so glad we did. The owners were friendly and you can't get a better value for dinner. We shared the harissa cauliflower starter, which was my favorite. The lime yogurt sauce that it comes with makes for a fantastic flavor combination. I had chicken and dumplings for my entree and my husband had the steak with sides of kale and potatoes. Both were good and quite flavorful. We shared a pot de la creme for dessert which was rich and delicious. I'm excited to have this place so close by.
