Perch

Hip atmosphere and excellent food. It’s great for a special occasion or to step up your date night since it’s a little expensive. It would be a fun place to meet for drinks. The service was great. We ordered octopus and duck. Both where cooked well and very flavorful. The duck was served on a scallion pancake. It was one of the best things I’ve eaten. They have coat check. I love places with coat check. Looking forward to going back and trying the chef’s tasting menu. It looks like it would be a very fun experience.

Update: recently went for brunch. It was fantastic. The food, cocktails, and service are unbeatable. Thinking about making it our regular brunch spot.

I almost never write reviews (in fact, this may be my first restaurant review - ever) which tells you what I think about this restaurant. If you've been to Perch and loved it - great! If you've been to Perch and didn't love it then it's time to go back. I've eaten there numerous times since they first opened (and, btw, I believe it's their 1 year anniversary today) and "loved" a few things but just "liked" the remaining dishes. It's been months since I last ate there and WOW what a difference. They have certainly tweaked their dishes - all for the better. Six of us ate there last night and we ordered a wide variety of appetizers and main platters. We all taste tested all the offerings and we had a hard time deciding what we "loved" best. I had the opportunity to talk with the owner, and exec chef, Mike who explained to me how he's been slowly modifying his offerings and training the staff to turn it into (in my opinion) one of Richmond's great restaurant's. It won't be months before I return.

We had a wonderful evening at Perch. The food was spectacular and the staff and Chef went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. It’s one of the best restaurants in Richmond and my new favorite. Highly recommend!

Oh my! There are no words to describe the culinary genius that is PERCH but I will try. We had the whole fish and the special, rock fish. The flavors were amazing, they just exploded on your tongue! The decor is very pleasing to the eye and it compliments the type of food beautifully. My advice is to make time and eat at PERCH! We are praying that Perch will expand and come to Charlotte. Until then we will have to visit Richmond more often!

Just had a great birthday celebration at Perch. They made us feel welcomed and the food was to die for. The bread pudding was the happy ending to a wonderful experience. We enjoyed watching the kitchen staff at work. Thank you Mike for a memorable birthday!
