My son was satisfied with the shrimp Alfredo. The bread given was also fresh and tasted like the West Indians coco bread! Yum. Also the lady behind the counter was very kind, she offered for me to sit down while we waited.
The Soprano sub I got was the best Italian cold cut I've had in RVA, it's not even close. It's a little small but that's the reality around here. Quality bread and meats. Service was a little shaky, I think the guy was filling in but can't hold that against them too much, it's a sammich shop. The fresh pasta was also a nice surprise, they also have home made soups and other treats.
Stopped by to pick up a couple sandwiches to go with the wife and while the sandwiches were good, we were apprehensive once we witnessed the owner making our sandwiches with no gloves on. While preparing our sandwiches the woman was answering phone calls, touching the meats, cheeses and all toppings with ungloved hands. As a former chef of 30 years I know this is not proper food handling protocol! I want to love this place as the sandwiches were good (albeit pricey), owners were pleasant and I like to support small ,local businesses but unless they start following proper food handling measures I would be reluctant to return.
We always buy meatballs and pasta from the market, it was nice to actually go in the store and get sandwiches.
Absolutely, the best sandwiches around.
Some of the best sandwiches in Richmond. The bread is absolutely amazing, everything is seasoned perfectly, and you get a great portion for the price. We also had the cannoli, which was filled to order. Can't recommend this place enough.
