Str8 Out of Philly

Easily the best cheesesteaks in Richmond. After a hiatus, they're back as of 5/6/21, but have relocated to Jackson Ward (405 N 1st St.) I went yesterday and got my old usual - cheesesteak with grilled onions and whiz. It was just as good as it ever was! Limeade is still great, too.

I believe this establishment is closed. Phone number disconnected. Drove there to place an order arrived at a darkened building on a Thursday evening. Pedestrian nearby said the place had been closed for a month... Very disappointing because the subs were truly delicious!

The folks at Str8 do a good job for the volume of business they are doing. Their sub rolls are great, and the steak is pretty good considering it is the frozen cheesesteak stuff. The cheese which is supposed to be provolone doesn't seem to be provolone, but something else, but I haven't any idea what- maybe jack cheese. Still, it's better than the cheesewiz stuff that some places use. I hope this place makes it because they are the only thing going besides the Hill up here, so give them a try.

Outside of Mr. Sub's Philly Cheesesteak, this is by far the best cheesesteak and most authentic I have had in the Richmond Area. You havnt had a Philly Cheesesteak unless its so greasy you can see it through the bag. The french fries here are great too. I would give the place 5 stars if their delivery service improved. They say delivery will take 45 minutes but it will usually be an hour if not longer. Food is great but only if you are willing to wait if expecting delivery.

got to say the subs and hoagies you are real good, understand if you are remodeling well when you're not working get rid of the ladder and all the cords, and from the amount of money that we spent on our visit that day, it would be nice to say hello when you walk in and thank you and goodbye when you leave! but will tell you the food is good and that only get you so far
