This is their chicken caper pasta dish that I love. Hadn't had capers prior to this experience but it's all very flavorful, the staff is always nice & compared to a lot of places downtown it is very neat & clean.
An outstanding restaurant. Just one visit has me hooked. Service is fast and attentive. The fried pickles are plentiful and delicious, but the best part was my entree - shrimp and grits. Wow! The best I have ever had, no question. It looks small, but the dish fills the stomach quickly. I'm about to fall into a food coma. A tip of my hat, Chef Bernard. I'll be back.
CHOOSE THIS PLACE!!! This is my first time to Roanoke and I was looking for a nice place to have dinner and drinks. Bernard's was high up on my choices because it was near my hotel and the reviews are great! Can I just say Bernard's is an amazing place! We were greeted on the street by the hostess and she held the door open. Are server was the sweetest lady ever and very helpful with choosing items from the menu. The frickles and thin and crispy like chips and made fresh to order. The bbbq and texan sandwich and burger were truly amazing. The fries are out of this world, not greasy and taste like fresh potatoes. This place is small and very cute, clean and the staff is beyond friendly. I honestly would drive the 5 hours from home to eat here again. Thank you very much Bernard's for everything, I really enjoyed the experience at your establishment! Shout out to Amy for being so sweet and a great server!
Great service, nice atmosphere. Corned beef sandwich was great. Salads were good. Only problem was the chicken we had on two dishes was tough.
Met some friends here for dinner. Was not even aware Bernard's existed. It was happy hour when we arrived. Had a bourbon and coke for only $3.50. Started with mussels. Excellent! Order some oysters sourced from Delaware. Excellent! I had fish and chips. Excellent! Very impressed with preparation and presentation. The menu is not extensive so everything they bring out of the kitchen is going to be done to perfection. You must give them a try.
