We got seated when we walked in.
Waitress came over and got the drink order. We ordered when she came back with the drinks. The food came out after 7 minutes. The food was cold. The cooked shrimp felt like they came out of a cooler. The chicken and rice were at room temperature at best.
The chicken tenders on the other plate were tiny, like for a child's meal.
They were busy but everyone was seated. No one was in the lobby
The meal was not worth $35.00.
Cheddars is usually pretty good. But this time it was exceptionally good. Our waitress was right on schedule with drinks. A few small side items were forgotten but were brought out without any hassles. Great steak for this area too. I'll plan on going back more often.
Stopped by for a dinner when visiting Roanoke. Good, affordable comfort food and delicious cocktails. Beer selection (or lack thereof) was a bit disappointing though. Nice ambiance. Our server Collin made us feel welcome despite late hour. Everyone had a great time, even the picky eaters. Highly recommended if you simply want to have a good meal.
First time there. Plenty of seating. Nice and comfortable decor. Quick service. It can be a bit noisy but I went during popular hours of the day. Best to try this place when it's not so busy in order to get a good first impression.
We visited a Cheddar's location out of town last year and were happy with the food and service, so on a recent trip to Roanoke for a concert we decided to stop by the Valley View location to try them out. They did a great job! The concept behind Cheddar's seems to be - comfort food prepared fresh in large servings for very reasonable prices. Who wouldn't like that? So this is not super complicated or gourmet food. It's meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Chicken Parmesan. Country Fried Steak. Alfredo Pasta. Food that makes you feel good. Compared to other restaurants in the area, you will notice that most of their entrees are priced a little lower, in the $10 range, instead of the $15 range you can find easily up and down the Valley View restaurant row. For what you get, including the ambiance and service, it's a great deal. So if are craving simple food, prepared fresh and in heaping quantities.. and you don't want to spend a fortune for lunch or dinner, Cheddar's is a great choice. If you come during a busy time like lunch or dinner rush, don't expect a quiet conversation with a loved one or friends... but the value and quantity of food more than make up for that.
