As a Caricature Artist I have worked alongside Jim Schaal Catering as we share many of the same clients...Whether at the Kyle House in Fincastle or Downtown Roanoke or at an on site event - I have always found the presentation creative - but more - the variety, freshness and flavor of their food amazing!! (When I can grab a plate between drawings!!) When I show up and find they are the caterers - I make an effort to take a break!

It's hard to be thrilled about anything at a funeral, but I was thrilled with the food, presentation and service provided by Jim Schaal and his team. He completely understood the mood we were trying to create. Jim worked with me on the menu and everything was delicious. The edamame humus was superb as was the pasta salad. Many of the dishes had interesting twists. The garnishes and presentation were delightful and understated as we requested. Jim was soo easy to work with and he did everything we requested. I highly recommend for a wedding, party, make it a happy occasion...we were so pleased!

Schaal's Catering provided the food for our May 30th outdoor wedding on Smith Mountain Lake. I cannot tell you how many wonderful compliments we received on the spread. The menu was well-fitted to our tastes and absolutely delicious. I would use them for another event in a heartbeat!
