Burgers and such have been fine , the chili , I have never understood , not like traditional chili , more like baked beans. Still good though , obviously doing something right after nearly 90 years . Now late late at night after bars close it can get very entertaining on weekends so don't go if you don't like sitting next to a fun loving bar hopper , but hey the kids should be in bed by then anyways lol.

The staff is incredibly friendly and provides very quick service. They serve some of the best burgers I’ve had. I love love love this place!

Absolutely the BEST place to eat in the world. Unfortunately I don't live here anymore, or I would eat here everyday for the rest of my life. Since my first time here in 1992, EXCELLENT Food and service every time. Great job guys. Don't change a thing.

What can you say...absolutely some of the best authentic Texas style chili you will eat! The cheesy westerns (hamburger)are the bomb, and the hot dogs are out of this world! Built in 1930. Has never closed its doors since opening. Open year round 24/7.

Well, it's the Texas Tavern so you get what you order. The kids go with me and, while ladies enjoy eating there to, my wife prefers to abstain. The atmosphere is as unique as the food and, often, the banter is enjoyable. Mostly clean language when kiddos are around.

Don't expect the Ritz. Enjoy it for what it is and you won't be disappointed. And, for goodness sake, don't ask for ketchup.

I like the cheesy with and a bowl with. My wife likes it when I get it without (onions). I love that lady so I won't get onions.

Kids like the same, always with. The also like the oyster crackers that are complimentary with each bowl of chili.

Enjoy it any time of the day or night.
