Sal's Italian Bistro

Food was great and the service as top notch. Went to Shenandoah for my mom's birthday and we were staying near by at Woodstock. We felt like eating Italian and we were not disappointed.

Nice place to eat, clean and busy for a small town. Steak sandwiches and seafood linguine were great and the cappuccinos make the meal. However, the lasagna’s sauce was a little too sweet for my tastes, but that’s not stopping me from visiting again.

Beautifully decorated, lovely Italian music, romantic restaurant serving a variety of authentic Italian dishes and desserts. The food is fresh and prepared properly. Service is good and the wait staff is dressed properly. This is one of the best restaurants in this area. It's great for dining alone, couples, families and small groups.

Sal's is roughly ten hours drive from our house and nine hours from our daughter's. We first stopped there about four years ago, on recommendation from the desk clerk at a nearby motel. What a lucky break for us! Since then, we've stopped there every chance we've had. The interior ambience is mid-twentieth century small town locally-owned restaurant-bar, the exterior looks like eighteenth century, and the welcome has always been warm. The food is excellent, and the service likewise.
Our daughter is moving soon. So, we're truly sorry that another trip to Sal's is unlikely for us. Our last visit, a couple weeks ago, put us there for an early dinner. Since we were almost the only customers, we were fortunate enough to talk with Sal, hearing from him how he started this business and how he wants to take care of his customers. Mission accomplished.

First time eating here. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for Italian. We had pizza, spaghetti with Italian sausage and chicken and shrimp fettuccine. Also salad, bread and two kinds of dessert.
