Charcoal Chicken

The chicken, potatoes, and plantains are absolutely delicious, and are available right away. There are a few entrees you'll have to wait 10-15 minutes for, though, if you order them at the counter. The staff is very friendly. There's a soda fountain with free refills; as well as your choice of three specialty drinks, or something from the cooler. It's a great new place to enjoy food in Suffolk.

As a homesick DC native living in the city of Suffolk, I am super happy and impressed with this establishment. Thank you for bringing the culture to the country! Taste just like home honestly. Staff is super friendly and welcoming and service is super fast. I was literally in for less than 5 minutes. 10/10 would def recommend

The restaurant was busy but service was prompt and friendly. Roasted chicken was savory and delicious. The sides were well seasoned and tasty though the vegetables were quite soft. The sauces served with the chicken were terrific! I'll be back!

We absolutely love this restaurant. The chicken-perfect all by itself. But then you try it with the sauces and it levels up somehow. The plantains-best we’ve ever had. Both types of beans-amazing. Fried rice-amazing and it has huge pieces of chicken in it. Cheesy potatoes-yum. Mixed veggies, so flavorful. The sides could be bigger for our family of six, but I’ll happily buy extra sides with the prices.

My mom and I went here on opening day, and we both love the food. The chicken was flavorful, the sides were good, and the horchata was refreshing. Judging by the menu, it looks like they have some good choices. Suffolk needs more places like Charcoal Chicken where there’s a variety of options to choose from regarding food. We will come back.
