Harper's Table

This is our Suffolk restaurant. Tonight, Lauren took great care of us. The pork belly biscuits and fried oysters are better than you can imagine. The ribs were falling off the bone tender. I have no words for the mushrooms - maybe amazing?

We debated between Harper’s and a few other places in Hampton Roads for dinner this evening. We were so happy with our decision to dine at Harper’s Table as we called ahead to see what their specials were. The fried oysters, as a happy hour special, were perfect. Just lightly battered but enough to hold that crispy part that we all love. They had sold out of the rockfish but my wife had the crab cakes and I had the soft shell crab special. Both dishes were delicious and the sides to compliment the main course were just as good. Hands down, thumbs up, the best soft shells I’ve ever had. My wife ranks her crab cakes as tied for 1st. We highly recommend hT to anyone looking to have a for sure good meal!

Good food, busy wait staff, and pricey options characterize the dinning experience here. At $40 a plate, for a three course specialty meal (Taste of Suffolk), I expected more WOW and less waiting for food. Best dish was the She Crab soup.

I recently discovered this gem. I indulged my pallet in roast duck my last visit, which is a favorite of mine. I am extraordinarily picky, and yet was beyond satisfied. I have been here several times before, and have ordered different items for each visit. I eagerly await my return more and more with each subsequent patronage to this location. If Harper had longer hours I would give up cooking entirely, as I don't have the words to describe how wonderful the food and staff truly are!
