Bubba's Seafood Restaurant and Crabhouse

Ambiance and atmosphere and VIEW: A. Staff, peeps servicing you: A. Kindness and gentility: A. Carey as a bartender: A+ (People can fake it but she was really cool and deserves a raise!). All kidding aside, she's real and she's cool and she wants you to enjoy your visit. You really don't get that everywhere. Steamed crabs: B-. Sorry. I loved the seasoning. Pepper flakes! I'll add them to my next steamer but they were not Jimmies. Two were but a dozen Jimmies will fill me to the brim, normally but I ran through them and was still hungry. HOWEVER, for the price you'd pay for Jimmies in MD (circa $125 vs. the $69 I paid, FAIR VALUE). I'd give the visit a 4.5 if I could but alas...

I came here on a recent trip to Virginia Beach looking for a "dock to table" experience. This place came up in my Google searches.
My starter were the raw oysters. Delicious and definitely fresh. Among the best I've ever had.
I got the soft shell crab as it was in season and a popular local dish.
I did not particularly enjoy this, but it wasn't through any fault of the venue. I wanted to try soft shell crab, but I found it wasn't to my liking.
My sister ordered crabcakes (1 broiled and 1 fried). They were fantastic. My wife ordered the yellow fin tuna which was the featured fish. Again, fantastic. The she crab soup stood out as a great starter.
Service was was warm and friendly. i will definitely return upon my next visit to VB

This place has a really pretty view of the water, and you're close to people coming on and off the boats which is cool; we were recommended to get the soft shell crab dishes there since they're in season and everything is caught fresh which is nice! I had the fried soft shell burger and that was pretty good (I'm not a big seafood dish person but I definitely enjoyed it!). If it's cool enough I recommend sitting outside (gotta say though some of those seagulls are terrifyingly large) and enjoying the views they have. Overall good food with pretty good service, not super pricey and everything is fresh. (Also during happy hour hush puppies are 4$ and Wednesday nights they have Lady Drink nights so you can get Sangria/etc for about 5$)

If you are looking for a restaurant on the water this is the place. The excellent view is what you will pay for. The staff was friendly, but I wish the waitress would have given me a heads up about the large gratuity for a party with 5 adults and 2 kids. I'm hoping I was not getting "special treatment" because the gratuity was unexpected. The food did seem fresh, but not that seasoned. It was mediocre for the price.

My family from Pennsylvania was visiting. I wanted to take them to a place we’re the food was good and the view was pleasing. I took my entire family to Bubba’s. Our group was very large and they allowed us to sit on the second deck outside. The view was incredible and the food outstanding. Everyone had something different including appetizers. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. It was a night my family will never forget. I want to thank the owners of the restaurant for an amazing night. I highly recommend this wonderful place for everyone.
