Fantastic place! Love the atmosphere and the people! Amazing food and cocktails! Very friendly wait staff and wonderful job by the cooks.
I was excited to see a new breakfast and lunch restaurant open recently, and Huntley’ Place did not disappoint. The service was fast and friendly, albeit with a slight pensiveness I did not expect. I’ll tell you about that in a moment.
First, the food was excellent, well priced, and plated with a home town feel that I appreciate.
Large pint mason jars for serving beverages, simple but elegant white plates for the food, and great coffee cups for the excellent coffee they serve were all present here. The flatware didn’t live up to the presentation as it was mostly just stamped steel cutlery.
Next, the environment was warm and inviting. I’ve eaten at this establishment when it was Famous Uncle Al’s and Cool Breeze. The current iteration of the space is well designed with chalk menu boards, corrugated steel panels on the walls and ceiling, and a beautiful brown wooden bar. The place really pops and I can tell that the owner and team care about their image.
Finally, my server was... polite but seemingly annoyed that we arrived “late”. Maybe I’m reading into it. But that was my gut feeling. We arrived 45 minutes before closing and it seemed as we interrupted her. Her concern about the closing time was for naught because we were finished and paid by 3 pm according to my receipt. Now, she was never rude or overbearing, but more like passively upset with our presence. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt, and I will definitely eat here again. However, with a $46 meal and a $10 tip I would expect better next time.
That last point aside, Huntley’s Place is competing directly with First watch and the Egg Bistro, both are within five minutes of Huntley’s Place. I believe that Huntley’s Place is on par with First Watch and beats out the VB Favorite, Egg Bistro.
Give Huntley’s place a try, you will be impressed, just make sure to go earlier than 2:15 pm.
Great food and even better service. If you enjoy being greeted with a warm smile and friendly atmosphere then look no further. We walked in and immediately were greeted and seated by the staff. They came over gave us menus and took our drink orders, shortly after they came and took our order. The food came out quickly, hot, cooked to perfection and in very generous portions. The decor in the restaurant is nice and pleasing and the seating is comfortable, will for sure be visiting again!!!
Enjoyed a very good breakfast last week at Huntley's while on vacation in VAB. The Red Velvet Pancakes were amazing and my husband loved the Shrimp Omelet! We were so impressed with Huntley's breakfast that we returned for dinner and drinks a couple days later. We will certainly revisit and spread the word to our family and friends as the staff was equally amazing and very personable and friendly! Great job!
Stopped in for the first time today. First impressions, small place but very clean, greeted by friendly staff member. Were given a menu and hand sanitizer to use before we ate. They have specials boards on the wall along with the regular menu items. It was a bit to decipher at first but you can get breakfast anytime, not sure about the lunchtime though it may start later. They are only open for breakfast and lunch so plan accordingly. Food was excellent, we had the bacon cheeseburger and the Greek chicken wrap special and a plate of pickle chips (deep fried piclkles). service was great, and prices are on par with other local places we like to frequent. Masks are required to enter/exit and anytime you leave your table ie Restroom break.
