Leaping Lizard Cafe

I had the tuna melt with salad and potato. I'm not to crazy about the potato salad. I also had the sweet corn coconut chowder and the fruit yogurt with granola. Everything was great except for the potato salad. Our server was great. The ambiance was very laid back, cozy, and nice.

The restaurant was very crowded at noon, but we advised to come back at one. We did and was surprised at the amount of parking that was now available. The waitress was attentive and answered our questions concerning the menu. The meal itself was delicious. We had the chicken and/or tuna plate which was delicious. The deserts were offered or you can go next door and choose from the desert room.

Loved it. Loved the atmosphere. You can sit on the front porch, inside, back porch or under the trees. We sat under the trees and loved almost everything. The chicken and ducks were nice, the walking path while you wait or after you eat is delightful. The feeling we were sitting outside at families house comes to mind, with the hustling of someone tending to the chickens, laundry being delivered and even a dog running around.
The dog being there didn't bother me, but him being off leash and comfortable running near a table of diners, did bother them, and I can kind of understand that if you are not a dog person, or simply don't want that while your eating.
The food was great, the spiked coffee was pricey for such a small tea cup size. The server (tall thin blondish) was well, distracted, didn't care to focus on us while she delivered, menus, or when she finally returned for our drink order. And when delivered, it was one drink at a time, one plate at a time, all while asking another guest if they needed anything.
That's the only reason I gave 4 stars out of 5.

Great food and extremely friendly service! Had the tuna melt for lunch and it was great. Loved the salad and generous slice of cantaloupe. Hostess, waitress and other staff was awesome. Nice atmosphere and vibe. Definitely going to be a regular lunch spot for me!

LOVE every detail about this place! I sat outside and enjoyed the breeze. Say hello to the chickens or go for a walk in the trees while your food is being prepared! Tuna melt is mouth watering! I wish I had room for dessert! I can’t wait to return!
