Chop Stick Cafe

Some of the best curry I have had anywhere and I eat curry at every possible occasion. Their sushi and desserts are also fantastic. I have never had a disappointing meal here and even people I have brought who usually don’t like this type of food have found something they love on the menu and are happy to go back with me.

This is by far my favorite Asian-fusion restaurant to eat at in Winchester!!! I was recently in for a birthday celebration with some friends and family. We had a larger amount of people so we were sat upstairs. The decorations and lights were beautiful and I felt they tied the room together very well. Our server Laura was very attentive and had the sweetest personality. She had other tables besides ours and continued to check on us as she was busy!! I ordered the Thai sweet and sour stir fry with chicken with a spice level of 4. The flavors were incredible and I decided to save some to take home. I will definitely continue to come in and eat here because everything about this cute restaurant draws me back!!!!!

First time visit, won't be the last. Had dinner last night with my wife and son. Absolutely delicious! Egg roll appetizers were crispy and non-greasy. Crab Rangoon apps were puffy and crunchy with delicious creamy filling. I had their Fried Soft Shell Crab served with mixed veggies over a bed of spinach with Thai chili sauce. Cannot praise it enough, was absolutely perfect (though I will back off from a 7 to 6 or 5 on the hot and spicy index next time!) My wife also thoroughly enjoyed her Thai Sweet and Sour Stir Fry Chicken and my son had the Sesame Chicken in a sweet and sour sauce. We all agreed that the food was top notch. Combine that with an attentive, friendly wait staff, a pleasant, comfortable ambience and very reasonable pricing and we're sure to be back to try other menu items. We live 150 miles away, but plan to get back whenever we visit our son who lives in the area.

Serving a mix of Asian cuisine, Chop Stick Cafe definitely is a great experience. The food is tasty, priced well, with hearty servings. All of the restaurant's herbs and spices are grown to the aide of the building, free to see, which was certainly nice to notice.

However, s a personal experience, I've had issues with the Thai curry options here. The two I've ordered tasted great, but there is some ingredient used that triggers some sort of allergic reaction to me, with my throat closing and coughing uncontrollably. I eat Thai food quite often, with only experiencing this problem here. It's not a problem many will face, I hope, and isn't the reason for a star taken from my rating.

Instead, my main drawback here is how enclosed and tight seating is. With small tables not even large enough to unfold the menu (which may be a good call for a menu re-design), tables are placed closely to another. It wasn't something I was expecting in an area like this and made a private dinner slightly more inclusive.

Great food and the taste of it is great if you are looking for something different. Great drinks and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The inside is very nice and the staff is incredibly friendly. This place is worth visiting and for sure you will be back.
