Squirrel Tree Resort

We had a project near Stevens pass during the summer & fall of 2020. We were in need of lodging and food for roughly 4 months. The Squirrel was the closest place with lodging and food. We were a little apprehensive about staying at the Squirrel at first but wanted to give it a try before going into Leavenworth and I'm glad we did. Vito and his wife with a very limited staff provided awesome customer service while dealing with the back breaking covid restriction the state had imposed.
The rooms were super clean and the food decent. The price was very fair considering the general area being a destination point and with the lack of alternate options within a reasonable distance. Vito even comped at least one meal a week for the crew during our entire stay. Only had one minor complaint, the water really stunk due to the sulfur but we quickly got used to it.
We look forward to swinging in next time we are in the area.

I eat here almost every time I pass through. Great burgers. Good drinks too. Love the cowboy burger and sweet potato fries.

I kinda don’t know where to begin with my review. I could start with the incredible staff. I could begin by waxing poetic on their fabulous coffee. Don’t even get me started on how much I love their lodging accommodations and want to totally move in there forever. The food is downright delicious. The location is impossible to beat - smack dab in the middle between Steven’s and Leavenworth. Reading room? Outdoor patio with fire pit? Live music? Beautiful fresh mountain air? Clean, extremely comfortable, with possibly the best people I’ve encountered in recent history? I mean, come on, now! 5 stars is clearly not enough for this gem of a place that wins on every single detail. I just got home and I already can’t wait to get back there. Special shout out to Vito for making the best coffee I had on the trip and running such a special resort, Cousin Ken Bailey for being quite possibly the best host (and ski instructor!) in the entire world, and everyone else who prepared our room, cooked our food, and poured us beautiful beverages. We love and appreciate you all ❤️

Vito and Stacey are amazing people. The rooms are newly renovated with new beds and a great tile shower in the bathroom. The lounge/restaurant was hosted by Stacey with all the attention and comfort of home. I have driven by this place 100 times or more and always wondered what it was like. I figured I would get a dive hotel for the night but I got a sweet mountain spot with great people. This place is excellent. The value far exceeds the price for a room. I’m a raving fan and I think Vito (the owner) will continue to build on what he has. Highly recommended.
