We went to celebrate a birthday. I made reservations at Stymie's Grill. When we arrived, no reservation table had been saved. I had hoped to sit by the window but all of the seats there were full. We decided to dine at the Double Eagle instead since it would be less noisy.
Especial was surf and turf! Excellent! Unfortunately, my steak was full of Gristle. The scallops were delicious though. My husband's halibut was overdone and rubbery. He was hungry so he ate it anyways. The veggies were good.
To make up for the mistakes with the steak and halibut, we did receive free desserts. I loved the lemon mousse and my husband enjoyed the berry cobbler.
The waitress was great and we took care of her as she took care of us.
Not the greatest for a sit down social with more than ten at your gathering. The main dining areas are L shaped and do not offer a seating situation where you can visit with more than the guests sitting in your immediate vicinity. I was surprised to see that there was a limited menu being served at our gathering that, unfortunately I feel, showed a lack of thought as to guest preference. Might be a great venue for discussing business after hitting a few balls around, but not perfect for the birthday party we attended.
Great service, fabulous food and prices. I love how they treat their regulars. If you ever have the pleasure of having Jess as your server, your in for a treat. This is certainly one of my main watering holes. See you wednesday for Wine Wednesday.
Had a great experience on Valentine's Day. Food and service were top-notch. We'll be going back. Nice to know there's another high-quality place in the area since Michael's in PA is no longer extant.
