Outstanding food for a reasonable price. We have been here several times when we come to town and every meal has been a unique experience. Today wa no exception, the scramble was perfectly cooked with peppers and potatoes just right

As someone who has lived and worked on four continents, I have socialized and dined all over the world which has made me quite a discerning foodie.

I currently live in Switzerland and was recently visiting friends and family near the cute little town of Republic where I discovered a hidden gem called 18 North Kitchen and Bar in the midst of gorgeous Pacific Northwest splendor.

It’s one of the places you’ll always want to keep coming back to no matter the distance. While passing through I manage to eat at this restaurant a couple of times because I was drawn back for the scrumptious food, delightful hospitality and tasty cocktails.

While there, I was lucky enough to chat with the chef who graciously came out of the kitchen to entertain my myriad of questions (I always have questions especially as a competent and curious cook myself.) It was evident the chef takes great pride in what he sends out of the kitchen and the wait staff are friendly and eager to please as well. The bartender was also equally attentive in wanting to stir up libations to perfection.

It’s reasonably priced for the quality that is provided and everything on the menu is tempting. I wish I lived in town just so I could try everything.

We are so excited about this new restaurant in Republic. It is next door to the very best brew pub in Washington, Republic Brewing Company, which is very convenient for getting a take out meal to bring back to the pub. On the menu is a cheese-steak sandwich. I have been on a lifelong search for a cheese-steak sandwich which could compare those I had at the first place I worked as a 15 y/o kid in California, an Italian restaurant run by an Italian man from Philadelphia. I have consistently been disappointed in my search. The Philly cheese-steak of my memory was the best I had ever had (I am 65 yrs old now) and nothing since compared until I had the 18 North cheese steak sandwich. Finally, a cheese-steak sandwich that matched, actually exceeded, my recollections of 50 yrs ago!
We also had Sunday brunch there which was fantastic. I kept trying to figure out how they prepared the eggs that made them taste so much better than just normal scrambled eggs. Belgian waffle was perfect. Best of all, the staff is so warm and welcoming.
After recent concerns about economic decline of Republic, WA we are so happy to know that our home-away-from-home (we live in Seattle, second home in Republic) is making a come-back in a big way with the addition of a top-notch restaurant such as 18 North

Hey folks if you haven't been here yet come and check it out. I must say the entire experience from start to finish was wonderful. Food is delicious. Portion size is plenty. The owners have certainly opened up a restaurant that serves tasty quality food with service to match. We will be back!

Got some take out. The fried pickles with sriracha garlic aioli are AMAZING and the rainbow wrap is super good!
