Ordered half lb brisket for a try. Very tasty. Definitely would revisit
Oct/9 Update: their official website shows during the fall season this place is closed
Awesome barbecue at a fair price. Split with my girlfriend.
A little over 50 dollars got us:
Texas Trinity:
2 slices of brisket, two (large) ribs, 1 (large sausage)
Got the Mac and cheese and potato salad for the sides.
Thought maybe we'd like to try the pulled pork too so we got a half pound of that.
Remembered to ask about burnt ends and found out they still had them just before closing so we got a quarter pound of them too.
Needless too say it was way too much food for one sitting. Though it all tasted so good we probably could have finished it. Meats were seasoned simply to highlight the wonderful, unctuous, smoky flavor. Sauces were good but clearly not the focus. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Potato salad was tangy and tasty. Make sure to ask for white bread and pickles on the side so you can mop everything up and maybe make yourself a little sandwich.
Also remembered, we got the jalapeno cheese sausage. I thought was good and the style I was planning on getting but you also get the option of a mesquite sausage. They were sold out when we got there so I have to assume it was good.
We've got a little of everything leftover. Highlights and what I'm most looking forward to having for breakfast tomorrow:
Burnt ends and Mac and cheese.
So glad we have this Jack’s location on the east side, easy access off 520/Bellevue way. We got the trinity for takeout which hit the spot - moist tasty brisket, mesquite sausage and tender meaty ribs. The sides and sauces were excellent. Added bonus was the pecan pie, I’m not usually a fan but this one was good. These guys do great service during covid.
Best Texas Style Brisket. Cheers
