El Caporal

It's a mature establishment, clean and cared for. It had been a while since we were last there as we live 30 minutes away. It was nice to see an improvement they added to the outside of the entrance; a glassed-in entryway to get out of the wind and rain and wipe our feet on the welcome mat. We were greeted warmly.
Their tomato salsa which came with the chips was richly thick and flavorful, blended with the right amount of onion, red chilis, cilantro and the Mexican oregano that sets it apart from any we've tasted.
They have the best chicken mole in the county! Velvety smooth, the flavors blended perfectly. It was plated nicely with perfect Mexican rice and at our request, whole pintos. These were surprisingly placed on the plate, not sitting in liquid. Al dente - cooked perfectly - and not too salty.
The servers were attentive and friendly. The staff graciously accommodated us when we asked if they could add another half-portion of just the chicken for an extra charge so we could split a dinner between the two of us.
It was a good experience to enjoy great food.

So good! Service is always amazing, everyone is so nice. Tried something new, the trio, super yummy prawns, chicken and steak. Fun to actually try something different than the usual favorite (molecajete) and have it be delicious. This is a local favorite for us.

I've been coming here for about 13 years now. That sort of sums it up. Good food and friendly staff. Prices have been creeping up like many places, but still worth the money.

Love to come here. And love the staff. Oscar who works there is so amazing attentive and inviting. Brings such a warmth to an amazing restaurant. Great food. Highly recommend!!

We have been going to El Caproal since moving to maple valley 16 years ago and we still love it. The service is always amazing and good never disappoints. The tacos al carbon are the best.
