Cafe Solstice is great for an early morning cup of coffee or some afternoon studying. Their lattes are amazing and they have a good tea selection. Unfortunately their pastries are rather subpar for the price.
only been here once but it was a nice space with cool people working there. seemed to be a lot of seating with outlets available.
Cafe Solstice is a Seattle institution of coffee. They have been around almost 30 years bringing unique, down to earth yet cool vibes in contrast to this city full of many uptight or lesser established cafes. The food and coffee/tea are delicious and well made. They bake their pastries and sweets fresh daily and prepare their own sandwiches and wraps with skill toasted to perfection. The staff is warm open and professional - always taking care to keep their guests smiling and the cafe spotless. The art and music rotation is on point. I feel like I am entering a secret hidden club of awesomeness whenever I come here. Thanks for existing Cafe Solstice- you make living in Seattle that much better!
Solstice is a lot of people's favorite for a reason: good vibes.
Solstice perfectly captures Seattle's weird and funky vibe in a charming way; Interior is an incredible combination of wood and industrial. It has a high-ish roof with skylights (a rarity in Seattle buildings and makes it less of a cave), which makes the interior lighting a perfect mix of cave-like security and connection to the outside world. Funky art on the wall. Their background mix will introduce you to funky alt songs that make you wonder how you've never heard of them before.
More than most other cafe's it attracts a variety of interesting characters that are just interesting to observe when you're taking a 20-20-20 or a 5-10 minute break. Whereas other Cafes just offer a good environment for working or studying, Solstice is confident to do it with personality, which makes it much more of a living breathing animal you have the honor of meeting. Solstice is a one of a kind place with great vibes. My only gripe is that it could use more urban greenery.
