Capsule Cafe

'Tis a quaint little lovely shop,
Tucked away in the U-District mob.
Tho there ain't much in the look,
Once you try it you can't stop.

I've been to this restaurant a few times, and here are my two cents:

Pros:
1.) It tastes great and authentic.
2.) the food is prepared and presented with mindfulness one can
appreciate.
3.) The raw ingredients are displayed in orderly and clean
arrangements, without being in-your-face with bulk. I believe the
idea is to maintain freshness with on-demand replenishment.
4.) There's a simple elegance in the interior decor. I think everyone
can acknowledge the tidiness of this place.
5.) Some very good selection of fried finger foods, and the braised pork
on rice is always a good choice.

Cons:
1.) Short working hours due to staffing issues.
2.) One would certainly hope for a greater variety of raw ingredients,
but I think that's mainly due to the pervasive supply chain woes.
3.) Not the most eye-catching establishment from the outside, and
even when you look through the front window there's an obnoxious
wall covering half of the vantage.
4.) The raw ingredients could use some more exaggerated/appetizing
labels.

Overall: it's a gem once you give it a try.

Very authentic Taiwanese comfort food. Their fried goodies (not shown in pic) are the best on the Ave!

We had a great lunch here today. Taiwanese braised food is similar to hot pot, but more flavorful because of sauces and cooking style. Meals are fresh and yammy as well as everyone can decide the spicy level -- its good for customization. Last, I really like the braised pork over rice and (fried) mac & cheese. I cannot wait to visit it AGAIN!!!

Delicious Taiwanese style braised dish and popcorn chicken and lots of others fried stuff! Personally love the fried king oyster mushroom and braised pork over rice most!

The braised food tastes very good! So do the popcorn chicken, french fries, and other fried foods🤤 Highly recommended!!
