El Farol Mexican Restaurant

First time trying El Farol and everything was delicious! The portions are pretty huge and each meal here ended up being two meals. They also gave us a bag of tortilla chips and a cup of salsa.

Enchiladas: 5/5 The enchilada sauce was delicious and not too tomato-y. The veggies on top were fresh and crispy, which went well with the soft saucy enchiladas.

Burrito: 5/5 I really appreciated that the veggies inside weren't overcooked or mushy at all. The squash, zucchini, mushrooms were all perfectly cooked and I loved the addition of the caramelized onions on the side.

Both were delicious and filling - will definitely be back!

I was truly impressed with the freshness and flavor. I am from Southern California so I know authentic, Mexican cuisine. I was caught by surprise with their tamales, tacos and enchiladas. If you are in Seattle and want a delicious Mexican meal, make your way to El Farol. You will feel welcome and be served extremely well by their friendly staff. No microwave heated entrees, like at the chain Mexican Restaurants.

Always been a reliable, tucked away place for getting authentic western Mexican food with the standard variations. I’ve been coming here off and on for 20 years, even before they were “El Farol”. The food, like the ownership, hasn’t changed much. It has always been a lot of GOOD food for a reasonable price.

It sucks that a dispensary opened right next door to them and made parking, and even driving down Republican, difficult in the evenings. But their comfort food and Cadillac margaritas are so worth the walk and battling traffic getting through to the heart of Capitol Hill.

Incredible authentic Mexican food and great service.
