I never had Lao food before this restaurant but everything we ordered were excellent!!! My absolute favorite were Kao Piak Sen! Sorry Pho… but I’ll move on to my new favorite noodle bowl.

I’m a bit bias as I’m from Laos. Perhaps that’s why service was great, felt like I’m eating at home with family. Not sure how to describe the dishes we had, it was all great. It’s like how you’re mom makes it vs your aunt, both are great but some dishes are better from either. Will have to postpone food review until I have more time and more dishes.

    Thai tea is great.

I ordered the Lamb Soup bowl. It had the most precisely perfectly cooked mushrooms available.

Be careful when using their chili oil. That thing was scorching. I dumped two spoons in my soup and regretted when the spice burned the back of my throat and made me cough. That's my fault though.

Ordered the veggie Lao bowl and papaya salad for take out and brought it home.
The soup was okay. It kind of tasted like any nondescript vegetable soup. The broccoli in my soup had visible bad spots and the mushrooms tasted like they had been sitting in the fridge for a while. The chili oil that came with my meal on the side was rancid and burnt. I was bummed! I love chili oil! My soup was also missing the tofu that was supposed to come with it. Overall, a tasty but boring soup that was okay.
The papaya salad was very overdressed. I love fish sauce but it tasted like that was the only flavor they added. I ended up adding a whole bunch of lime and peanuts to balance the fish sauce flavor and green beans and lettuce to spread out the dressing. Overall, the veggies in my papaya salad looked and tasted not fresh.
That's kind of how I felt after eating here; that the veggies seemed like they could have been fresher. I've been wanting to try this spot for a few months now and I'm glad I did! It's a small business so that's always worth it but I'm not sure I'll be back. It didn't quite live up to expectations

I liked this place. It is a bit strange and quirky but i would give it another try for sure. I had the chicken soup bowl, it was a bit short on flavor but i knew that when i ordered so a little chilli oil fixed that. My friend had crispy pork salad and it was delicious. I want to try more things! Good job guys!
