Edit: I have since returned, and the service and food has markedly improved, as the new owner said. Not the best in town, but bumping it up from 1 star to 4!
Previous post is below under the old ownership:
Tried to grab some brunch here a couple months back around 2am, post-drinks at the bar (I was DD and sober).
Ordered some biscuits and gravy, and it took 45 min to get the food. Got the food, and there were a couple long hairs wrapped around the biscuit.
Showed it to the waitress, and she took it back, but then they had no other food to serve. She comped the coffee and apologized, and said this is why she's quitting in a week.
She then wrote a note for me to take back to the restaurant the next day. When I did this, the waitress responded "she's going to quit, so yeah...". Long silence. Nothing offered. Pretty dismissive.
Talk about a waste of time. This place is spoiled by its location but brings nothing else to the table. I'll head somewhere else for brunch.
Thank you for taking my order via Uber Eats, order was taken and delivered quickly. I was disappointed though in the quality.. the description said I would have eggs and the other typical sides that comes with said breakfast item at that time in the morning. The main item wasn’t bad at all...visually. But, instead of eggs and what else was included.. I received some veggies I am allergic to and some mashed potatoes. Would have been fine but wish I was told (called/texted/other that the order is not what was advertised).. could be a miscommunication between the two companies but I couldn’t eat the food out of my own safety.. with these hard times, I didn’t push for a refund or anything but wanted to make sure others are aware. Stay strong Seattle ?
The menu has changed in the last year, gone is the delightfully sinful hamburger steak, but the changes slimmed the menu down which makes it a bit easier to choose from the all day breakfast offerings, lunchtime fare, or the evening entree selections. The pot roast is better than Mom makes(or so she said) and the gravy makes it the best for open faced roast beef sandwiches from Renton to Bothell. Sadly, the hamburger steak will be greatly missed for that same reason.
Had a great brunch at the Mecca. The staff was exceptional at social distancing and wearing their masks. The food was great. I had the Queen Anne omelette. Yummy! I’ll definitely be back soon.
