Put on your fascinator and have a jolly good time! Every dish is excellent here, especially the cakes! Everybody wants Meghan and Andrew's wedding cake with that hint of lemon. Pictured here is what I call the Tower of Goodness - a little bit of everything on three tiers. I also highly recommend the shepherd's pie. Of course, the teas are exceptional.
My go-to for a relaxing afternoon tea. Consistent, great service, excellent food, and very accommodating. The chairs are showing their age, tho, so banquette seats tend to be more comfortable. Location is cozy, but not unmanageable for a big gal liked myself. Bathroom is small but always clean and well-appointed. Owner has exceptional taste in merchandise, so def. don't forget to check out their curiosity shop!!
First visit and thoroughly enjoyed Afternoon Tea selections. Wide variety of teas to choose from. Plus they brought around small samples of a couple others.
The English eats were all flavorful and had a balanced taste together. Reasonably priced.
After they bring your tea (a sizeable tea pot full--I bet most people don't finish half of it), you start with three scoops of sorbet and a sugar cookie. Then comes the traditional tiered tray with warm baked goods on top (we got a cranberry orange scone, English muffin, sausage roll, and quiche), fresh fruit and deserts in the middle, and tea sandwiches on the bottom. The baked goods and sandwiches were all really well made and delicious. Make sure you take advantage of the delicious jams on your table! My only disappointment was that the scone was served with whipped cream instead of clotted cream. Guys, if you want to impress your date, take her here for a great memory!
Visited for my first Afternoon Tea experience and was NOT disappointed. The staff was very friendly and took their time to explain menu items, plus offer suggestions. They were attentive and made sure we were taken care of.
For those not familiar with the experience, trays of food with bite-size portions (savory and sweet) are served with your choice of tea. Come hungry!
