We love this place! Their filet is amazing. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. However, my lower rating is due to the 20% service charge they add to the bill which clearly states it isn’t part of the tip. Our dinner for 2 was $130 for food & wine and then ended up being $200 with service charge and tip. If a restaurant needs to charge more, I get it. Just add it into the menu pricing. Don’t pull this surprise service charge nonsense. Sadly, we won’t be back.
Love it! Cool vibe, great fireplace, love the brickwork, it’s so cozy! The wine flights are really good and the lunch was great. I had the soup and avocado toast. Truly the best I’ve had.
Staff were lovely.
Purple is consistently excellent. This location in Woodinville is always busy. Went for a late lunch and was able to walk in, but would suggest reservations. Great wine flights to choose from, bottle service, or cocktails. Fries are hand cut crispy beauties. Hubby loves the meatloaf. Salads are excellent too.
Tasty, eclectic menu and a superb wine list featuring wines from around Washington and the world in a trendy, relaxed environment. Service was excellent even when the restaurant was at capacity. Great place to get some good food after a long day of wine tasting. The brunch is also excellent!
We reserved a table for 10 on a Sunday night for a friend's birthday party. The wait staff was very accommodating, we were seated right on time, and parking worked out well, though it was late enough not to be absolutely packed in general, though Purple Cafe itself was very well attended. There's a bit more parking than it looks like from the street side, though if it's a truly tourist-y day, that might still be tight!
Since it was a birthday, my friend got her dessert for free, no less! Every plate we ordered was thoroughly enjoyed, and for those who had wine, they were eager to share tastes if you had an interest in anything in particular, or sell half glasses as well. When I ordered an iced tea, our waitress offered to bring sweetener, or to sweeten it with honey - it worked very well with the honey!
The interior was well built, heavy chairs, walls covered with candles, and a fairly Pacific-NW sort of look to it. We were seated next to a warm fireplace, and it looked like the exterior had good options for seating on warmer days.
They do add a 20% surcharge to every check, which goes to the establishment, adding that they pay their workers well, and include benefits, implying nothing more is needed - but they still give you an opportunity for additional tip, if you so choose.
