Good margaritas! Food is meh.

This was our first time there. The staff was very tentative and polite. The food was absolutely amazing. Every single item tastes different and very very delicious, whereas in many Hispanic restaurants the food all taste the same. This was certainly NOT the case. Everything was authentic and cooked to perfection. This was hands down the best Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. I will certainly be back. It was so good I had to call my mom, who is Hispanic, just to rave about the food. AMAZING!

As a recent transplant from Texas, I'm in search mode for good Mexican food on the island. I haven't found great food, but San Carlos qualifies as good.

The drinks are fair. Most of the food is good. I especially like the carnitas. Some food is just OK, like the rubbery chicken I had on nachos. I like salty chips but these chips are VERY salty.

It's nice that they have an outdoor patio for good weather days.

There are a couple of non-food issues with the restaurant, however. The prices are a bit high for what you get. Also, it is always understaffed. You might have to wait even though there are tables open, and expect to wait a long time for service and your food.

Fun and friendly place. We had a large party and stopped by for some recommended and amazing peach margaritas.

A Bainbridge Island Gem! The food Is always served piping hot and the quality of the ingredients and care in preparation is evident in every dish like house smoked chicken and sour cream enchiladas or roasted pork with creamy salsa verde. There’s dishes that are part of the pantheon of American-Mexican restaurants across the US but lots of surprises as well. Salsa is one of the best around and always fresh. The Marianne’s Margarita is top notch whether made with well tequila of the higher priced pour. Definitely worth a visit - or three!
