We've become big fans of Thai Palace. We were quite surprised that this place was even there. I had driven past this location twice a day for months without even noticing the new signs.  My lady and I had a late-night ahead of us and decided to drive to Port Orchard to grab something to eat while we prepared. We saw this place was open while sitting at the stoplight at 6th and Callow and decided to safely do a U-turn and park.  When we came into the restaurant, the entrance was a bit confusing, but we found our way to the front. It was fairly empty, but to be expected for a place so new that hasn't done any real advertising. We were seated quickly and were fairly impressed with the decor.  It looked completely renovated on the inside. Some of the roof tiles are already stained and sagging, and the booth banquets look as though they were used from a different restaurant. We got the menus and read through the expansive list. There are so many items and they all sounded delicious.  Since it was Thai, I went with the standard Chicken Pad Thai and my lady ordered the Pad Sukiyaki. We also ordered curry puffs as an appetizer. I ordered my food 5 star spicy, and the owner came to our table asking to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into. He explained that he had friends in town FROM Thailand who ordered 5 stars and even they said it was very hot.  I heeded his advice and lowered it to 4 stars. I quickly realized after my first few bites of the 4 stars that I probably would have had a heart attack at 5 stars. The dishes came out piping hot and beautifully presented with garnish and some very cool boat shaped dishes. The owner came over several times to talk with us, tell us stories and check in with our table. They also gave us complimentary Thai iced teas for their grand opening.  He told us about hot the recipes came to be, how he started the restaurant and how he plans on advertising. He was a very cordial guy. They kept our water cups filled with yummy lime infused water which helped cool our palates. We were so impressed by this place and hoped it would stick around. We visited a second time on one of our days off for lunch and had the same great experience. We ordered the crispy crab appetizer which is Crab Rangoon with real crab on the inside, very delicious.  We saw the owner again and spoke to him some more. Hopefully, they gain in popularity once people realize how good the food is there so that we can enjoy them for a long time to come. Also, I hope they get that leaky roof fixed. If I recall, the first time we came it was slightly dripping on the floor in one spot. The building is old, so leaks are common I'm sure. We'll keep coming back and supporting this local business. My son and I have our father-son Thai place in Port Orchard that we go on our "man-dates", so it's nice that Thai Palace has become a great date-night or lunch spot just for my lady and I to have as our own.  If you like your Thai food VERY spicy, this is going to be your spot!

Really delicious food and super great service! The timing of the service was just perfect and our server was very friendly and accommodating. The chef came over to see how we liked our food. The panang curry was delicious with layers of flavor not found at other establishments. The mango sticky rice was the best I've ever had! How they got a perfectly ripe mango in late November is a mystery but also the rice was sooo delicious! Perfectly sweet and salty. The appetizer platter was a good way to get a taste of many offerings and it was all good. The crab puffs used real crab meat and were very high quality. The Thai spring rolls were really flavorful yet simple; so good! We were also really impressed by the curry puffs which reminded us a bit of samosas. We were blown away by the service and impressed with the food. We will be back!

Stopped by on whim, had never been but had heard good things about the place. So glad I did!

Food was excellent, served hot and fresh. I had Chicken Satay which was very flavorful. Only complaint is the peanut sauce was the consistence of soup. It was not a sauce. It would not stick to the satay so I would have to spoon up the sauce and drink it with my satay. Not good.

Had the Pad Thai with shrimp and it was delicious. Lots of shrimp in the dish which it made it well worth the price.

Service was good and very friendly. I will be going back for sure to try more things.
