First time going and the customer service was extremely courteous and professional. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.
The food overall was pretty bland and could use some seasonings. I'm not a professional chef nor food critique. However, my Grandmother has had and ran a couple of restaurants, and her food was always on point.
1.)Some of our Pineapple Coconut Shrimps were undercooked, and the coconut was subtle in taste. (I recommend cooking the shrimp to a golden brown, and also recommend homemade coconut batter.)
2.)Coleslaw was bland. I couldn't taste the vinegar or any seasonings. It tasted like cold cabbage. (I recommend adding a squirt of lemon/lime, a dash of sugar, a dash of salt/pepper and other necessary spices/seasonings.)
3.)The Chicken Fried Steak was bland as well. The vegetables were delicious and on key (I recommend brining the steaks prior to battering. The batter was peppery and overpowering.)
4.) The sweet potato fries were undercooked and some were wilted, however the salt was perfect. (I recommend adding an Italian/sweet and salty season to the fries and frying them just a little bit longer.
5.) The BBQ sauce didn't smack me with any new flavors, pretty basic sauce, and not enough sauce was given. (I recommend offering different flavors of sauce during ordering. I don't know if they have other options but I wasn't given an option to choose.)
Overall I was satisfied with the food in a small town setting.
I will definitely be going back and give an updated review. I look forward to my next visit.
Thank You.
I had the Ruben and it was the best I've had. Fries were delicious as well with just the right crunch on the outside. They also had a good beer selection.
I've also had much of their BBQ as takeout and there's nothing I've had that wasn't amazing.
Stopped after seeing reviews while traveling through...and glad we did. Pulled pork and onion rings were amazing..as well as their fry sauce. Our waiter was outstanding and super friendly as well. Glad to support great local places.
This place is worth the stop. If you are heading out of Spokane, try to make the effort to dine here. The smoked baked beans were really good, as well as the Reuben and pulled pork sandwiches. Service was great and the staff very nice. Highly recommend.
Great food, great ambiance, and great service. We got the pulled pork sandwich and the beef dip. The bun on the pork sandwich was so good holy cow. Also make sure you ask for bbq sauce for pulled pork :)
Onion rings were SO GOOD. Crispy, fresh. And the sweet potato fries and regular fries were super fresh and delicious too. We’d love to come back.
