The food was only warm and incredibly salty. Service was slow, but friendly. Servers had loud conversations by the kitchen curtain. Desserts were delicious!
We started with the "roasted" autumn vegetables. Since it said roasted on the menu we expected the dish to be hot, but was disappointed that it's a cold dish. Additionally, the vegetables were not as soft as you'd expect for roasted. The pumpkin hummus was the highlight of the dish and we went home and made some ourselves.
My wife had the ricotta gnocchi which she really enjoyed. I on the other hand had the seared sea scallops. The scallops were cooked well but the risotto was cold and the roasted carrots were crunchy. They reheated the risotto which just resulted in it being gluey. The wait staff didn't seem to care that the risotto was cold. I didn't finish it and we skipped dessert.
On the positive side, the drink menu was robust and we were seated immediately, granted we had a reservation for opening hour. The dinning room decore and ambiance was also tastefully done.
Sometimes I go to a nice restaurant knowing full well that I am paying for atmosphere and that the food, while good, can be had somewhere else for a lower price tag. Not here. Duck Soup sits at the precipice in its class. From the cocktails to the appetizers to the main course and the atmosphere this place has impressed; and, I set my reservation with very high expectations already. Their vegetarian options are iust as good as their non-vegetarian options.
This place is stellar and I am going to remember to eat here as often as I find myself on the island.
I can't say enough about the food and the staff at this restaurant. Want an amazing atmosphere? This is it! The food and drinks scream perfection at every turn. Just super ... :)
fresh, locally and sustainably sourced ingredients. anchovy spread with the homemade bread is super addicting, scallops were incredible although perhaps $36 for the picture shown is a tad pricy. however, I do understand the cost of top of the line ingredients and understand what it takes to run a business. nonetheless, quite a lovely atmosphere, nice libations, and the desserts were stellar! 10/10 would recommend
