Good coffee, great cookie, memorable staff.
I stopped here for a mocha to kill a bit of time in a restful atmosphere, and I'm glad I did. The mocha truffle drink is very chocolaty and not overly sweet - mellow like the music here, and soft like the couches. I got mine with almond milk, so your mileage may vary. They offer an array of baked goods too, and the chocolate cookie I got was exceedingly tasty in addition to being gluten-free. The people make the experience, though. Their new barista, Henry, was nice and we chatted a bit as the other barista walked him through the recipe for my drink. This place gives off pleasant vibes, but not overpowering. All and all, a positive experience.
Great ambiance, vibe, seating, drinks and art. A must stop drink shop to meet great friends, explorers, and locals taking a few moments to treat themselves. One of my favorite signature Mount Vernon spots.
Lovely small shop full of beautiful art. Whenever we went in people were being human beings instead of staring at their phones. Staff reasonably nice. Coffee very, very good (but Australian coffee culture has spoiled me, so even Seattle and the neighboring cities could up there game a bit to catch up). Pastries more in the three-and-a-half star range instead of the five-star range. Don’t bother ordering a hot chocolate, the ones my kid had were low quality. Didn’t try other food or any wine. Lines to order sometimes a little slow, so plan accordingly.
And they have a community board for local people to post fliers, which I love, because I always want to know what people are doing, what’s happening in the community, what people are selling, etc.
Four and a half stars rounded up to five.
Starbucks too bright for your liking? Visit Ristretto today! This place makes me feel one cigarette away from becoming a great French philosopher. Come here with a good book on existentialism and you'll see what I see: a cozy and inspirational spot to study, chat, or contemplate the human condition. ☕????
If you look for places that care about well crafted coffee, stop into Ristretto. I drive out of my way for exceptional coffee. The atmosphere/decor is great also, lots of seats. There's works by local artist in the wall to enjoy. I also, I have to recommend their sandwiches. There's nothing like a well made sandwich, well made coffee and a place to enjoy them with your friends.
