I've order takeout from here 2x now - no complaints about the food, because it's quite good (they even have handmade tortillas).

However; the first time, I got Chile Colorado and it was $12.95. The second time, I got Pollo a la Diabla which was also advertised on the website for $12.95, but I was charged more like $16.95. I was told it was more expensive because it was "off the paper menu" and was a larger portion than the one advertised on their website (even though it was the same size as the Chile Colorado I had before). Both times, it was in the evening and I called it in over the phone. I have no problem paying a couple extra $ to support a brand new family-run business, but they need to make sure the pricing is consistent and 'as-advertised.'

Taco Tuesday! Tried one of each and enjoyed them all. The ground beef was my favorite. There is also one with pineapple in it that is pretty good. I would go back. Hope they get beer soon!

As a owner of my own family restaurant, I never review another restaurant, but I made an exception this time. Their family tradition to their food makes my heart melt every bite. I once lived in San Antonio, TX, and this family is more than comparable to those tiny Mexican family restaurants. Eating in a family owned restaurant is special, because you can taste the level of difference from family to family. As the current owner of a family restaurant myself, I welcome my new neighbors to our small little corner on 128th. I will try every item on their menu soon. Just give me a few weeks. You have to try their abobada tacos!! Better yet, try all their tacos like me, because I love home cooked meals from any part of the Globe. My customers gave me a chance and I did well. That's what I want for El Jacalito.

I brought my own family recipe to the table and so did El Jacalito!!! They are just a 2 min walk from my sushi bar.

My husband, son, and I came in for lunch today after a strongly recommendation from one of our friends from Cactus Moon. The experience was wonderful. The food was all homemade style and very good. My favorites were the Adobada and Asada tacos with homemade tortillas. You can’t beat that homemade touch. My husband said and I quote, “the last time I had tacos that good was back in San Antonio, TX”. The food was so good that we had to come back to pick up more for dinner with the rest of the family. Our waitress was very nice and funny. You can feel the welcoming of the family own and run restaurant. We will spread the word with our family and friends. We will be coming back to try more food from here. ???
