Went out on a date with my little man. We both enjoyed it. We sat outside. Food was good, drink was good. Server was busy but also so friendly and caring. Someone else came out to assist her. They work as a team, helping each other. I like that. Suggestion is to upgrade the atmosphere for outside seating a bit. Add music, add a candle. Simple things just elevate the experience all together.
This place is beautiful! Love the atmosphere and how chill the vibe is. We sat outside and that's definitely the best place to sit here. U are right on the water! This place is great for a date night, spent about $100 for the 2 of us, including drinks. Go check it out!
Enjoyed our dining on the patio. Very attentive wait staff. Drinks came out quickly. Questions on the menu were answered, food was presented well, and everything tasted wonderfully. The salad on the bento box meal came a bit roo over dressed. However, the dressing was lightly flavored and delicious. Recommend the tempura and teriyaki salmon. The beef skewers and sashimi were also excellent.
When trying a new Sushi place I often order Nigiri Sushi or Sashimi so I can gauge how good their fish is, absent of all the sauces and other competing flavors. This allows me to check texture, flavor, freshness, and overall quality. If this litmus test pans out then I come back.
Umi passed my test. The fish was of acceptable to good quality though not exceptional. My tuna roll was sloppy on the ends and had julienned cucumbers as opposed to avocado. Service was good.
This place was very busy. The atmosphere was very casual with outside dining.
Parking is a premium and you may need to park and walk.
Price. My basic tuna roll and 8 pieces of Nigeria Sushi was 74 dollars so it is not the cheapest place in town. If budget is not a concern, you like a lively atmosphere and some decent food then try this place out.
We never miss an opportunity to eat here when we visit our son. The tangerine beef is our favorite, over-the-top, shareable "umami bomb", and the Spokane roll is a delicious, spicy work of art. The chicken teriyaki was the only disappointment as the sauce is weirdly bland and watery (but not enough to take a star). Service is great, but we try to get there right when they open as they get busy quickly (Kendall Yards is an increasingly popular area).
