Quiet, cozy, comfortable. The owner Kathleen is so sweet! Makes an outstanding meal. Bern there 5 times, we go every year for our Anniversary.
We stayed at Twin Gables a little over a month ago and it was such a lovely, quaint stay. We got in late from a drive up the coast and Kathleen wrote helpful notes for us to find our room. It was so sweet and thoughtful. Our room had a cozy, comfy feel to it. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. It was a peaceful, comfortable atmosphere and truly unique.
It’s definitely worth your stay.
My good friend was getting married near by and I needed a place to stay for my brother and his wife and me and my wife. I booked rooms here and so happy I did... This is a great place to stay breakfast was better then any I have ever had at a BNB. If ever in the area I highly recommend this place..
Hidden Gem. Small town escape. if you seek a quiet oasis on the water, authentic care, genuine quality and attention to detail, this place is for you. Kathleen is a delightfully warm and kind hostess who will instantly make you feel truly welcome. Clean, cozy room with fragrant soap, a comfortable bed, and delicious homemade shortbread awaited us. Coffee silently appeared at our door in the morning, and a gourmet breakfast at the time requested. We were served a huge breakfast with the best lemon ricotta pancakes with real maple syrup (warmed!), we have ever tasted. The local museum was closed. No problem. Kathleen is a docent and opened it just for us, giving us a private tour at our own pace. Please note! This gentle lady and her exceptionally fine offerings are for those that understand the difference between a fancy 5-star hotel and the impersonal luxuries this delivers, and a tiny town that rolls out the personal red carpet just for you. If you appreciate this distinction, you have a Victorian treasure awaiting you.
We stayed at the apartment for one night. Everything was clean and as advertised. Kathleen even had some fresh coffee ground up for us. The price is excellent and can't be beat, especially for four people! My wife is from New England and she definitely felt right at home in this Cape Cod style home. Will definitely stay again if we're in the area again!
