Really fun atmosphere, yummy Cajun food. Tried the frog legs and gator skewers and they're fun appetizers! Good drink selection. Happy hour all day on Tuesdays. They have outside seating in the spring and summer.
Great food but the day we were there the service was very very slow. Our main meal and desert took 40 minutes to arrive after ordering and getting our order in was fast either. The food was so good I'll try again someday.
Tried their $10 Bayou bowl during happy hour (reg price $11) & $15 fried chicken sandwich (comes with yam fries).
Great portion and enjoyed their dishes.
The food here is extremely good. And so is the ambiance. It was about $15-20 per plate, but it's also in the heart of downtown, so I think that's reasonable. Especially when you consider the quality. It's a great place to have a conversation, too. We were there for over an hour and it was a great date night.
I chose to have lunch in the restaurant as opposed to the separate bar area. Cozy with darker wood booths and tables. I ordered a hurricane to start and it was tasty and pretty. For food, I had to try their shrimp and grits. Made with bacon, cheese, mushrooms (and more) in a delicious cream sauce, the mix is laid over grits. It was fantastic. I indulged and got beignets for dessert. Good but a little harder than I assumed they’d be. Either way, happy I finally stopped in for a new lunch experience.
