This is, without any hesitations, my favorite restaurant in Pullman and one of the best food I’ve tried in the US.
Place is really cozy and pretty decorated. Service is really good. Price is a little bit above the other restaurants but it’s worth it.
I highly recommend the bread pudding dessert.
We always enjoy one special meal at The Black Cypress when we’re in town. This time we shared the rib eye steak and a salad. The kids got the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was great.
We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The vibe of this restaurant is real nice and cozy. It was pretty crowded though so it was taking our server some time to attend to us. We ordered the cheese platter and the black cypress dips which were pretty good. We had a vegan friend with us and there were not a lot of options for her but they were pretty accommodating with her requests. We ordered the beet salad, Pomodoro, and Grilled Portabella for entrée. The grilled portabella was flavorful and the best salad was refreshing. They offered a free dessert for the birthday girl which and she chose the bread pudding which was quite sweet and rich. The huckleberry ice cream of the side was nice. Overall, it was a good experience, be prepared to wait quite a bit during rush hours.
The Black Cypress is the quintessential upscale restaurant in Pullman, WA. The small menu offers different taste ranges that are always great. I’ve been here a couple of times and the off menu daily specials have also always been good. The hospitality at The Black Cypress has been nothing but perfect and have always helped with whatever we might have needed and have been very attentive to our table every time I’ve dined here. The desserts are also incredible here so don’t miss out on those. Overall, this restaurant is a prefect little place in a little town that’s always great for a special occasion or a nice casual dinner.
Delightful meal here. We actually drove a little out of our way to get here. So glad we did.
The roast chicken was delicious. Juicy and flavors hit all the right notes. My one grumble was the kale and bread accompaniment. Kale in my books is horse feed, the bread got soggy.
For dessert we had the goat cheese panacotta. Very light and divine.
