Good pizza, stone fired with some interesting appetizers. Pleasant atmosphere
Neat Place to eat! Very good everything is fresh. Staff is wonderful!
We sat at the bar on our visit, the bartender was very friendly. The food was REALLY good we had the lobster and artichoke dip for a appetizer and it was RIDICULOUSLY GOOD best I even had. The pizza options were a good we have the philly it was good. Also we had the small amount of tuna and mussels blanco and they were both very good as well.
Alright, I like pizza who doesn't. It's kind of hard to mess up. Not that they messed it up. Started with the the char-grilled romaine caesar. Not bad, not bad at all. I think what would have made this better for me is the ability to do half and half pizzas. I have been to speciality pizza places like this before where you can get half of one thing and half of another. Since I was with my 14 year old who only eats cheese pizza, so my half and half was cheese and sausage hardly an exciting proposition. So all told 40 dollars for a salad and some just regular pizza not worth it to me. Maybe the other more exotic pizzas are good. Hard to say! So my advice would be to find a way to make a half and half that lets people truly enjoy what your pizza is about. Pies and Pints does a great job at it.
There's a lot to like about Backyard: the friendly staff, the atmosphere, and the beer selection are all amazing. However, I feel like I can only give it four stars because I'm not crazy about their pizza. It's still good, but it's not as good as other high-end pizza shops like Pies & Pints or Mellow Mushroom.
