Wonderful food in an elegant inn. I had grilled trout and it was absolutely fabulous. And your biscuit comes baked in its own tiny cast iron skillet.
A unique, charming, interesting, friendly, relaxing place to stay. Liked it very much.
It's a touch of class, nestled at the entrance of a warm and inviting town. When everything around us is changing rapidly, The General Lewis has always been a place to take us back in time. I'm a bit biased, I used to be the bellhop in 1977 before enlisting in the service, sitting on that stool, peering out the window to greet the next welcome visitor. I always stop back in when visiting home and that stool is still there. It's transformed a bit, upgraded here, and a bit there, but still has the same warm and inviting environment, great food and a staff dedicated to making your stay a pleasant one.
Quaint, friendly. Excellent bedding. Small baths. Lovely bar. Easy walk to town / restaurants. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Basic continental breakfast, good coffee.
The restaurant is great for Sunday brunch! They have bloody marys, mimosas, and an extensive brunch menu in addition to their regular brunch menu. Our party of 5 each got something different, and we all enjoyed our food! Bonus points for real tablecloths, historic building, pleasant waiters and waitresses, and good coffee. They also list the Farmers they source from with a little bit of info on each in their menu. Love it!
