The Block

Came in on a recommendation for a bite and was definitely pleased with our choice. The atmosphere is inviting, Tom, the bartender/waiter, and Des, the owner, were both extremely friendly, and the food is outstanding. I would highly recommend the blackened salmon. It was absolutely delicious!!

I've been several times and never disappointed. The beer selection and the drink menu is nice. The food is good, have only tried vegetarian and fish dishes, but they were great. My grandma ordered crab cakes and when the server set them on the table she instantly noted that they were over done and asked if my grandma wanted fresh ones or if she like them crispy, and quickly remove the crab cakes and came back with fresh ones a few minutes later. The server anticipated the problem and handled it professionally.

Just a great place to be.
I had a cheese platter with three different kinds of cheese. It came with crackers and a chutney.
Very delicious.
Together with the cheese I had a red wine, a Sailors Grave. That was a really good combination.
Waitress was very friendly and accommodating
In summary it is a really nice place in downtown Charleston

Delicious food and nice atmosphere.
I definitely suggest getting the olives if you are an olive fan (they are seeded though so keep that in mind).
My wife and I had the salmon and scallops and both were fantastic!

Great place in Charleston to eat and have some drinks! The wine list is fantastic, definitely something for everyone on there. The food is just as good. The staff were all very friendly and helped us with all our questions.
