This is a COVID-era response. There's been a lot of books surrounding the opening of Yamato. It's been imagined as a hibachi restaurant, but there is no performing chef cooking the good in front of you. Everything is made hibachi style at one end of the restaurant and then brought to your table.
We always get the same waiter for service and he is polite and attentive.
The food is a couple of steps above the gate you can get locally, and the only place to get sushi.
The two best other on the menu are the Bento Box, with rice, choice of meat, two dumplings and a spring roll.
Yamato has an extensive sushi menu, and all the items I've tried are quite tasty. The choices range from usual to fancy.
    No alcohol is served.
It's usually fairly crowded, likely due to COVID restriction seating, so they do a brisk call-ahead business for takeout.

Excellent sushi (try the eel and avocado roll) and hibachi. Great service and good prices. If you want to avoid the crowds and still take advantage of the great lunch specials go around 2pm. (The lunch specials are good up untill 3pm Mon through Sat)

Fantastic food and service. Prices are very reasonable as well. Foos came incredibly quick for what we ordered.

The Chicken Yaki Soba was amazing, and so was the Shaggy Dog Roll, whatever sauce they were using for it was absolutely perfect.

But, the beef teriyaki sticks were quite tough and chewy, lots of sauce on them. Not a negative as I'm sure someone would enjoy it like that, but it was hard to enjoy them with how tough and chewy the meat was.
