La Tía Carmen Restaurant

We just got a take out order. The food was absolutely delicious. The soup was totally delicious. Everything we got was excellent. The only thing I found negative and this was just me and my personal taste, I don't do hot and spicy items. The salsa and refried beans were very tasty but entirely to spicy for me. We would absolutely eat here again and encourage others to dine here as well.

After finally hearing and reading all of the reviews about this restaurant, I finally decided to go try it. I was not disappointed.

My lunch as started off with a complimentary basket of pinwheels, which are similar to a puff style snack, with a little bit of spice to jazz them up. I couldn’t decide between tacos or tamales so I tried them both. The tamales were excellent and very authentic, filled with chicken, corn, peas, carrots, and other veggies. The taco al pastor (pork taco) was delicious and also very authentic. Just the right amount of cilantro and onion. It was served with a side of homemade salsa, which I think was chipotle based, due to its smoky flavor.

This place has food from all of the Americas, including the U.S., Mexico, El Salvador, & Argentina. This is the first of its kind in this area. Embrace it. To the all of the haters who said they’ll never be back after the first visit, give them a second chance. They’ve had a rough start, as many restaurants do. This isn’t the typical Tex-Mex joint, and it’s definitely not Taco Bell, so don’t expect that. What you can expect to find is some homemade, very authentic, and delicious Hispanic (and some American) food, that nowhere else around here offers.
