At the crossroads to some of Northwestern Wisconsin's premier vacation destinations such as Hayward and Cable Wisconsin is the little "village" of Clam Lake. Nestled at the intersection of Hwy's M, 77 and a couple secondary roads.

Here you'll find find 4 brown sided buildings and a little gift shop. Spread out along a couple of blocks. This could be Wisconsin's version of Twin Peaks!

We drove past all the buildings, one was closed on Mondays. A couple of others had a few cars parked near them. Because we are adventurous...we chose the place with no cars parked by it.

As we walked in we were warmly greeted by the couple who own the place. it was dark and the furniture is old and worn. Definitely not inviting. But who cares! The pizza was delicious. And definitely handmade. We could hear him chopping the ingredients for the order in the kitchen.
    The sausage is homemade!

There are two types of pizza Deep Dish and thin crust (not really super thin). We ordered one of each to try them both. The crust is quite good. It has a yeasty sourdough taste. It definitely is there to add flavor to the pizzas and not just hold the ingredients in place.

The Deep Dish has a rich, spicy, smokie sauce. And definitely not for the cheese adverse! Our Deep Dish must have had 2 lbs of cheese in it! The thin crust sauce is a bit sweeter and not as thick and the pizza is still covered in a mountain of cheese.

They don't have any prepriced combinations on the menu. They're based priced as Cheese only and then you have to create your own by selecting from the available ingredients. That does drive the price up quickly but the ingredients are premium and fresh! We were pleasantly surprised and satisfied. The pizzas were delicious.

The dining room does have large windows looking out into the woods. So there is somewhat of a view. They also had a free little book exchange on a table in the corner. Adding a bit of homeyness.

If you're looking for beautiful dining spaces...this place is not for you. If you love a great pizza...it's perfect!

Pizza was amazing and quick. If you want thick cruat, give them a little more time.

A classic northern Wisconsin tavern that serves made from scratch food. The owners are very friendly and curious about each patron. We had the deep dish pizza and learned about how it was made. Very unique and delicious. You can't even find this type of pizza in Duluth, MN.

There is a vintage tape player juke box and an equally vintage arcade in the basement. There are three beers on tap and a variety in bottles. Mixed drinks are available.

We didn't leave enough room after the pizza but there's homemade cheese cake. Will definitely come back for more.
