What a great fine on my birthday weekend in bayfield. The best staff. Told us the story of this place, showed us old placemats and old artifacts and decorations on the walls. Oh, if the walls could talk...???? A trip back in time. Great weekend. Great place. Oh and did I mention we had whitefish liver appetizer. Weird but good. ????
So glad we got caught in a rainstorm and sought shelter here! The food was great, the history and the staff was even better! Very cozy and affordable.
We stopped in to eat lunch the other day. The food was great, service was great. I had to nurse my baby and I get nervous nursing in public but didn't want to walk to our car a few blocks away on a rainy day-- the servers were all so pleasant and made me feel so comfortable. No one stared, no one got upset. Thanks for the delightful experience!
First night I had fried lake Superior whitefish, it was absolutely fantastic! My wife had broiled trout, it was also fantastic! In the South east USA, it's getting harder to find French salad dressing, but it is a staple in this part of the country and it was really very good. The pan fried red potatoes were excellent, seasoned just right. Service was great, Chris was our server. I went the next morning for breakfast and enjoyed the Fisherman’s Breakfast
$8.95
2 Eggs any style, Sausage or Bacon, American Fries or Hashbrowns, & Choice of Toast. I had the bacon and scrambled eggs with hash browns and regular toast with their Apple cider jam, everything was wonderful. Enjoyed a little chit chat with some locals who were also eating there. Then, we went back tonight, I enjoyed the chicken Parmesan, all was very good, there chicken was slightly over cooked, making it a little tough. My wife had broiled whitefish. I tasted her fish and didn't think I would ever say this, but as much as I love the fried whitefish the night before, I thought the broiled was even better. Tender, moist, cooked just right. They home make all their salad dressings, tartar sauce (fantastic also). We're leaving town tomorrow, but we're going to enjoy breakfast there before leaving. Thanks for everything, if we ever come back, we're going to stay at the inn to be close to the restaurant!
Staff was really great to deal with, very kind and helpful. We stayed in the studio and loved it, definitely coming back. Everyone from the owner to our waitress couldn't have been nicer. Excellent hotel and great food!
