Chili John's Restaurant

I can not explain very well what this place has meant to me. Growing up CJs was a treat to look forward to. As the years have gone on life takes you places you never knew you'd go. Every time I am in the area I order to go and my chili travels a few hundred miles home with me. I am fortunate that my brother has a mock recipe that is about as close as it gets. I mention that to reassure myself that if this place someday no longer exist I will still get my fix. However until then keep up the great work and I will see you soon as always

This is the real deal, the actual Chili Johns. You will see more ads and pics in a Google search from the one in California that was opened fifty years after the recipe started being served here in Green Bay (and in fairness a brother did start the place out there too) but this is the Original Chili Johns that John Madden and all those NFL players raved about. The restaurant itself is just a simple little eatery. This is not haute cuisine on linen with subtle candle light. But if you like good, hot chili with a flavor that will keep you warm on a winter night, this is the place to eat. There's nothing like it. I suggest chocolate milk with your super bowl of extra hot. It cuts the heat better than anything else. Enjoy!
